We can hardly believe that The FIT Show gets underway in less than three months’ time! When we were first awarded the brief to market a brand new trade show for the window, door and conservatory market we were well aware that it would be one of the most ambitious projects we have ever undertaken.
Motionlab have stepped up to the plate and been responsible for entire creative and marketing for the show taking care of: website requirements, budgets, brand guidelines, sales literature, social media, advertising, visitor and exhibitor communications, site signage, competitions; the list goes on and on…
We also helped organise the original press launch event and exhibitor briefing day which when we turned up at the ICT was oversubscribed. An event of this type would normally attract around 40 guests. We found ourselves with over 250 people; cue the deployment of emergency chairs!
However, it has become a real labour of love for the team and thankfully the industry appears to have collectively embraced what is already shaping up to be an incredible show. Since its official launch back in February of last year the event has been strongly supported by the majority of the UK’s fabricators and installers and our ‘everyone’s going’ campaign has received an unprecedented amount of press coverage. 40% of exhibition space had already been occupied at the International Centre Telford (ICT); the country’s 6th largest conference centre, before the press launch got underway.
Since that time, demand for exhibition space has been incredible and we are delighted to report that the venue will be filled to capacity as 150 of the industry’s biggest names have confirmed their attendance at The FIT Show. We even had to persuade the ICT to open an additional hall just so that everyone who wants to take part can get involved.
Visitor recruitment is on-going as the last thing we want is a room full of exhibitors with no-one to look at their products/services.
A series of adverts featuring some of the UK’s finest fabricators and installers proclaiming ‘I’m going’ are running on The FIT Show website and within many of the industry’s best-loved publications. This resulted in 1,000 people lining up for pre-registration before our pre-registration drive had even started!
Social media is also being continuously utlised by our online marketing team to reach out to visitors. The official FIT Show Facebook page has attracted over 550 ‘likes’ with Twitter followers exceeding 950+.
Now that reminds us, we must get on with designing our own exhibition stand!
