Content & PR Specialist

Are you as comfortable writing a blog as you are creating copy for social media, email or a website? If you’re a passionate communicator with a flair for content, we want to hear from you.

We are looking for someone with demonstrable experience of developing content strategies across multiple sectors. You’ll be able to show examples of campaigns that you have delivered – from the initial brief through to deliverables, and across multiple platforms.

Your portfolio will span PR and social media, and you’ll have a solid understanding of how content impacts SEO and the wider digital marketing mix. You’ll be competent at developing personas and building out content plans that have the audiences’ wants, needs and barriers at the core.

Highly organised, a strong communicator and used to the demands of being in a client facing role, you will be able to hit the ground running within Motionlab’s fast-paced marketing team. You will have a positive, ‘can do’ attitude and proactively seek to further your knowledge of your clients’ sectors, as well as the digital landscape you operate in.

As content marketing manager you will plan and create content that is produced in a variety of formats and distributed via multiple channels. You must be able to research, plan, manage, execute, monitor and report on the success of the content you create, and your portfolio of experience will support this.

Social media will be a key part of the role and you’ll be as comfortable creating organic content as you are setting up, managing and analysing paid social campaigns.

You’ll have a genuine enthusiasm for digital marketing and will work alongside the team, which has expertise in paid search, technical SEO, email marketing, social media and PR.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Full responsibility for technical and strategic delivery of client content
  • Work with clients to develop audience-focused content strategies to complement the wider marketing plan
  • Copywriting, proofing, editing and distributing content in a range of formats and various channels
  • Analyse and report on content performance
  • Keep up-to-date with latest developments and changes within the content marketing arena that may affect clients
  • Plan and deliver content and campaigns with military precision to ensure that the best possible results are achieved
  • Brief the internal studio to deliver graphics / creative that support planned campaigns
  • Ensure that client content is a showcase of best practice, fully utilising the platforms that are most relevant to them and their audiences to drive engagement
  • Proactively identify and develop PR opportunities for clients
  • Would suit someone from a PR, journalist, content marketing background

Required Skills

  • At least 2 years experience in an editorial, content, marketing, PR or communications role
  • Hands-on experience of creating content for a range of online and offline channels
  • Excellent copywriting skills with a strong attention to detail (including how to use punctuation and grammar correctly)
  • Experience of social media campaign strategy and execution
  • Good understanding of the digital marketing landscape
  • Analyse and understand different customer personas and what content drives them
  • An aptitude for analytics and knowledge of SEO, SEM, and PPC is also important
