Your Customers Are Already Mobile, So Why Aren't You?

by Tarriq

The importance of having a specifically tailored mobile website is increasingly apparent for businesses. 8 million people in the UK access the internet though their smartphone every day and there are over 23 million smartphones in the UK, thats 1 in every 3 people and nearly 50% of all mobile phones in use today ( source - comScore ). Just because you can access your website through your mobile phone doesn't mean it is performing optimally for your users and creating conversions for you.

By 2013, more people will use mobile phones to access the internet than traditional desktop computers ( source - Gartner ). Users expect their mobile experience to be just as good as their desktop experience. This means your website needs to load equally as fast on a mobile phone as it does on a desktop, needs to be easy to navigate and allow users to get to their end goal in as logical and few steps as possible, needs to be thumb-friendly and scaled appropriately for the smaller screen. It's also really important not to just scale back your website for mobile but to also take advantage of the added functionality natively present in a smart phone that isn't available in a desktop browser. You can improve your users experience by leveraging features such as GeoLocation to help them find their nearest branch of your store, or allowing them to use you contact details to launch a phone call or send an email.

At Motionlab we are experts in tailoring your website to meet the needs of the ever increasing plethora of devices users access your site from.
