HEAL a UK Registered Charity website created courtesy of Motionlab

Friday, August 28th, 2009

We’ve been working hard creating a new charity website for HEAL – a fantastic new home for all the news about HEAL, their current projects and most importantly the children of India.

We have created a modern looking website with a fully functional CMS (content management system) which allows the volunteers at HEAL to keep the website more up to date than they have been able to in the past.  There’s also a blog for news stories to be featured enabling HEAL to share with the rest of the world far quicker and easier on what the children of India have been doing.

We have also added an area on the site for people to sign up to their exciting charity bike ride – Cycle India – by using the Sign Up Form.

We hope you enjoy the new website created courtesy of Motionlab Marketing and please feel the urge to ‘Sponsor A Child‘ – Child sponsorship is a wonderful way to bring hope and change to a child living in poverty for as little as £7.50 per month.

To view the new HEAL website click:  http://www.heal.co.uk

About HEAL – A UK Registered Charity

Now in its 17th year, HEAL – a UK registered charity – is committed to providing shelter, support, education and healthcare for needy children. As a small charity we are committed to ensuring that your donations are not wasted on administrative costs, such as advertising and salaries. HEAL achieve this because they have no administrative office and no paid administrative staff.

All staff involved in the administration of HEAL are volunteers, so all money raised can be used effectively for the benefit of children in need.

HEAL currently has a number of projects including the HEAL Children’s Village in Guntur and our Poverty Trap scheme. Through these projects HEAL is working hard to provide homes, food, education and medical care for over 1,000 orphaned and underprivileged children in Andhra Pradesh, India.

HEAL UK is the fundraising arm of the charity, but the real hard work is undertaken by the trustees and staff of Heal India where all our good work is undertaken. They have also recently added HEAL USA as a further fundraising arm of the organisation.

HEAL are committed to expanding over the coming years with further projects, with the aim of helping up to 10,000 children escape the poverty trap by 2015. the aim is to provide Health and Education for All.

Motionlab client – Conservatory Outlet achieves 15% growth in 2009

Saturday, August 15th, 2009

Conservatory Outlet, a manufacturer of uPVC conservatories, windows and doors has posted impressive sales figures for the first six months of 2009, compared to the same period of 2008.

The company has increased turnover by 15.4% despite the housing market collapse and saturation in the UK PVC-u window and conservatory industry.  As many double glazing companies have struggled over the last 18 months with falling demand, Conservatory Outlet has steadily seen demand grow from its dealer base.

“Conservatory Outlet is not a normal trade window supplier.” explains Matthew at Conservatory Outlet.  “We put a lot of effort into helping our dealers generate leads and sales, rather than going out to find new dealers.  All of our growth has been achieved through our Conservatory Outlet dealers growing.”

Conservatory Outlet provides each dealer with their own quality website, and organise driving traffic to the website with a combination of SEO and PPC campaigns -created and managed by Motionlab’s expert Online Marketing department.  Motionlab also keep each dealer website updated with new product updates, news items and topics of interest.

The company has also invested heavily in two major product developments.  Firstly, Conservatory Outlet has been one of the pioneering companies, developing the new Energy Rated Windows alongside the BFRC.  The dealers are now selling a high percentage of their double glazing windows as A Rated – the very best energy efficient window available.

Secondly, they have developed a cost effective version of an ‘orangery’.  Most consumers expect orangeries to be expensive additions to a home, but Conservatory Outlet uPVC orangeries are very affordable in comparison with traditional orangeries, or brick built extensions and sunrooms.

Matthew explains, “We’re selling a lot of orangeries this year, with people preferring the look of the brick pillars and internal lighting pelmet.  Basically, they look more like a proper room to the house, than a tradition uPVC conservatory”.

Of course, Conservatory Outlet still offer the full range of other uPVC conservatories, such as Lean-tos, Victorian and Edwardian conservatories, but the company sees a definite switch to more contemporary designs.
Conservatory Outlet have 12 showrooms now in the UK, with outlets in York, Harrogate, Mirfield, Wakefield, Leeds, Kendal, Leyland, Holmes Chapel, Oswestry, Newtown, Pontypool and Raglan.  From these showrooms they cover Yorkshire, Lancashire, Cumbria, Cheshire, Shropshire and most of Wales.

The company is confident that the strong results will continue with similar growth in the second half of 2009 through existing outlets, and then a plan to add more dealerships in 2010.

Motionlab at the Big Chip Awards

Friday, June 19th, 2009

Last night, Motionlab attended the leading North West digital industry award ceremony, the Big Chip awards. Despite coming away empty handed everyone at Motionlab can be very proud of their efforts over the past 12 months.

Motionlab had been nominated for best e-business solution against some of the largest digital agencies in the North West, eventually losing out to the GHD website developed by TBWA. The judging panel had been highly impressed with the Motionlab entry, Plumbs main website based on the core results and siginficant improvement on the company’s bottom line. The Motionlab created Plumbs website has seen an impressive 78% increase in lead generation month on month from 2008 in comparison to 2009.

Linked to this, a robust SEO system has helped to generate a positive increase in the traffic on the website for customers seeking local and national re-upholstery specialists. Subsequently, Plumbs results in January 2009, compared to January 2008, show that traffic is up from 20,000 site visits per month to 26,000 per month.

The site conversion rate on the new Plumbs site has increased by two percentage points compared to the previous PlumbsCovers website in January 2008. Ultimately this has seen a 35% uplift in on-site conversions, equating to in excess of £1,000,000 in extra sales. Furthermore, the clarity of the product and site navigation has helped to aid an increase in the average order value being processed as an end result. The figures for January 2009 currently show an increase of 13% (£84 per order) in comparison to January 2008, AOV increasing from £617 to £701.

Well done to all involved and also to the winners. Next year we will be back even stronger at next year’s Big Chip awards challenging for multiple categories with some excellent innovative and successful web solutions.
