To coincide with the recent opening of their new multi-million pound, state-of-the-art college build, further education institution Furness College have undergone an extensive rebranding exercise in conjunction with long-time collaborators Motionlab.

FURNESS HERO

A snapshot of the new Furness branding

As the largest provider of education and training in South Cumbria, Furness College are fully aware of the importance of possessing a corporate identity that appeals to their target audience i.e. potential students.

It was felt that the existing Furness College brand had served its purpose and needed to be overhauled and revitalised to help the Barrow-in-Furness college retain its position as a leading further education establishment.

After enjoying a highly successful working relationship with Motionlab over the past seven years, Furness College showed no hesitation in appointing the Preston-based digital agency to take control of the entire project.

The past few months have seen the creation of new brand guidelines rolled across Furness College's entire suite of marketing collateral, consisting of course guides, posters and advertisements. In addition, new signage has been established, with the new-look brand being implemented on one side of the college's brand new building.

A series of eye-catching custom wall graphics also grace the walls of key spaces within the interior of the structure which consists of floor to ceiling pixelated images created as part of an extensive photo-shoot.

The Furness College website http://www.furness.ac.uk/ has also been brought in line with the rebrand.

As well as offering a fresh and contemporary design, the new site simplifies the content management process for Furness College as all course information on the site is pulled directly from Furness's internal system.

A new dynamic course search on the site also means that users can quickly find and browse the course they're interested in with ease.

It provides Furness with a perfect platform to keep people updated on their news and events, alongside their social media channels, which have also been rebranded by Motionlab.

Gail Sheldrick, Marketing Manager said, "We have worked with Motionlab over a number of years and have always been impressed with their enthusiasm for our organisation and their understanding of who we are and what we want to say to our clients. Their designs and concepts have always been refreshing and contemporary and received great feedback from our learners."

Motionlab will work closely with Furness during the rest of the year to continue developing the newly branded materials.
