Motionlab Appointed To Redesign New Dealer Site

Friday, July 22nd, 2011

Glazing industry website experts Motionlab have put the finishing touches to a brand new website for conservatory company Prestige Windows & Conservatories of South East London and Kent.

Motionlab were put in charge of the re-styling as Prestige have recently become the latest addition to Conservatory Outlet’s dealer network and Conservatory Outlet are a long-standing client of the award-winning digital agency.

Prestige Windows & Conservatories were also aware of the increased number of online traffic, leads and sales received from Conservatory Outlet’s other 15 network members following recent redesigns of their websites by Motionlab’s highly experienced web designers.

The vast majority of UK homeowners nowadays prefer to start their search for home improvements online, rather than having to visit a showroom first. Motionlab have built a site that aims to attract and sustain the attention of visitors so that they will be encouraged enough to pursue their interest further at Prestige’s spacious Kent showroom, over the phone or via an online quote.

Using the tried and tested template that has proved so successful for fellow network members, the team at Motionlab have sought to give Prestige a better online platform for promoting each of their conservatory, window and door designs.

Every product is given its own dedicated section so that visitors can better acquaint themselves with the long-term benefits of having a Prestige product installed at their home and can easily locate their preferred item within seconds.

Fresh and SEO-friendly content has also been added to the site to help the new Prestige Windows & Conservatories website climb up the search engine rankings organically.

You can visit the new Prestige Windows & Conservatories site at www.prestigeconservatories.com.

Wilkinson Cameras Get A New-Look Website

Monday, July 4th, 2011

Increasing numbers of people now purchase all their photography solutions online. However, finding the right make and model for your specific requirements via the internet can be difficult.

The new Wilkinson Cameras website www.wilkinson.co.uk designed by Motionlab seeks to make the online buying process simpler than ever before for customers.

Wilkinson Cameras are one of the North West’s leading stockists of compact cameras, camcorders and other photography-related products and felt that their current website didn’t exhibit their full product range as successfully as their nine superstores.

Following months of hard work and a tremendous amount of dedication shown by our web design team, the new site now beautifully complements their stores as all their products are given their own individual page. Online users can also get a better feel for their chosen product as they can focus on images from numerous angles, giving them more confidence when they buy online.

We all tend to have our favourite brands and the same theory applies when buying a camera. This has been taken on board with the introduction of a ‘brand’ page so that customers can locate their preferred brand within seconds.

Any customers needing online assistance can call upon the ‘live help’ option which will put them in direct contact with a member of Wilkinson Cameras highly qualified team of photography experts who are on hand to help with the decision-making process.

Wilkinson Cameras are renowned for offering customers deals on brands that they wouldn’t be able to find elsewhere. The ‘weekly offers’ page will give them the opportunity to promote such discounts on a regular basis.

Motionlab Helps Take Hazlemere Windows To The Next Level

Monday, June 6th, 2011

Following the enormous early success of their brand new website www.hazlemerewindows.co.uk, Hazlemere Windows Company commissioned Motionlab to create a dedicated replacement door website.

The Buckinghamshire-based company have recently joined Conservatory Outlet’s growing network of dealers and after seeing the fantastic web work we did for their main site and several other dealers within the group, they decided that they wanted another site just as hi-tech.

The same amount of hard work and dedication has been put into developing and creating the site www.thedoorplace.com to help Hazlemere increase their online presence and push their growing range of high quality doors. Our web designers, developers and SEO team have all played their part in ensuring that the new site is as visually dazzling, functional and search engine friendly as possible.

The new site showcases Hazlemere’s full range of UPVC doors, composite doors and aluminium doors and gives them a platform upon which they can promote those products that they currently have displayed at their High Wycombe showroom online.

Each and every door has been given its own devoted page and has high detailed imagery included so that online visitors can get a feel as to which designs will best suit their home. All content has also been re-written to help give users a better understanding of each potential offering.

Significant prominence has been given to the sections relating to quotes, appointments and brochures throughout the site so that customers can get what they want, when they want without even having to pick up the phone.

We believe that the new site will further encourage leads and sales and help Hazlemere build on their 25 years’ worth of experience within the home improvement industry.

The new site has been designed to further promote MSL’s extensive mix of contemporary office furniture solutions. Created using the latest web technologies, the site showcases MSL’s innovative product range with a clean and neutral style.

London-based MSL Interiors source exceptional reception desk, seating and table designs from a selection of leading European manufacturers and each item within their eclectic collection has been given due prominence on the site thanks to the hard work of our talented team of designers.

MSL, whose past clients include the BBC, ITV and HSBC, commissioned us to redesign their existing site and rebrand their email marketing. We have ensured that the site replicates the unique experience people can expect when they visit MSL’s expansive London showroom.

The site www.msl-interiors.co.uk has been built with integrated social media and we will also now be managing MSL’s SEO and PPC accounts in a push to give the new website increased exposure on all the major search engines.

Mike Laking, Managing Director of MSL Interiors added:  “Your business website is the global window to the world and as such investing in a new website, deciding on who should build it and subsequently look after it, is always an anxious and apprehensive process. Motionlab Helps Home Improvement Clients Buck The Trend

Friday, April 1st, 2011

The months of January and February have seen many companies involved in the home improvement sector reporting lower than expected lead volumes in comparison to the same period in 2010. This is far from the case when it comes to the client base of Motionlab Marketing, one of the North’s leading digital agencies.

The Conservatory Outlet dealership experienced an unprecedented 179% increase in the number of leads it received regards conservatories, windows and doors during the months of January and February in 2011 compared to the beginning of last year. One network member even managed to attract an incredible 344% rise in leads received.

These exceptional figures have been achieved following the recent re-design of many of the network’s websites by Motionlab’s web design team.

Motionlab’s SEO and PPC departments have also had their part to play by helping increase visitor numbers to each individual website and the main Conservatory Outlet website currently ranks at number one for the terms ‘conservatory’ and ‘conservatories’ in the major search engines.

But the success stories don’t end there. Kitchen and bedroom specialists Betta Living have also benefitted from an 18% increase in online enquiries and soundproofing experts Acoustic Supplies have had a mammoth growth in leads of 126% in contrast to the first two months of 2010. Both companies’ successes have also coincided with recent restyling’s of their websites by Motionlab.

If your company is similarly looking to improve upon current leads and sales figures in a struggling market, please call Motionlab on 01772 865050.

Conservatory Outlet Spin-Off Website Created By Motionlab

Wednesday, March 30th, 2011

Following the phenomenal success of the re-launch of Conservatory Outlet’s main website last year, the company has once again turned to Motionlab for help.

The UK’s number one home improvement specialists asked the North West’s leading digital agency if we could create a separate site solely dedicated to their comprehensive window and door range. The intention being that the new domain www.doubleglazingoutlet.co.uk will help them capture a bigger proportion of online leads and sales for windows and doors.

Our web designers have ensured that branding remains consistent with the company’s other websites when taking the emphasis away from conservatories and orangeries. Products such as energy rated windows and composite doors are now given more prominence.

Conservatory Outlet is also particularly keen to push triple glazing on the new website as they look to raise awareness of its availability amongst homeowners. With this in mind, we have created a page devoted to this most energy efficient of products.

Thanks to the excellent work of our SEO team, if you currently do a Google search for the words ‘conservatory’ and ‘conservatories’ you will find that Conservatory Outlet’s main site ranks number one in the natural listings for both words.

To help capitalise on this, efforts will now be made by our SEO experts on making doubleglazingoutlet.co.uk equally as visible when homeowners search online for replacement windows and doors.

If you have a particular product or service that deserves increased attention, give Motionlab a call on 01772 865050.

Choosing a SEO Keyword Tracker – SEOmoz vs. Raven vs. WebCEO

Tuesday, March 15th, 2011

Now before you say ‘Why are you obsessed with keyword rankings?’ I’m not! But in my opinion tracking keyword positions is still an important part of understanding how your SEO campaign is performing.

With this in mind, I set about doing a simple test for one of our clients campaigns. I compared three different keyword trackers from SEOmoz, Raven & WebCEO, to find out which tool was the most accurate for a single set of keywords against my own manually checked results.

I decided not to go down the route of testing thousands of keywords as I simply don’t have the time, so this review is merely using sample data. It should also be noted that my own manually checked results will only represent those from a single Google data centre, so results may vary.

The Tools:

SEOmoz Pro ($99 Per Month for 250 Keywords)
Raven Pro ($99 Per Month for 1,000 Keywords)
WebCEO ($49 Per Month for Unlimited Keywords)

(Prices are listed in dollars as the exchange rate is obviously variable)

The Facts:

Search Engine: Google.co.uk
Keywords Tested: 14
Date Tested: 10/03/2011
Industry: Solar Panels (I can’t disclose the keywords used due to client privacy)

Scoring

Comparing against my manually checked results, each tool was awarded points for the following rates of accuracy for each keyword.

3 Points: Within 1 Position +/-
2 Points: Within 3 Positions +/-
1 Point: Within 4-10 Positions +/-
-1 Point: More than 10 Positions +/-

The Results

1st Place with 36 Points was SEOmoz

2nd Place with 30 Points was WebCEO

3rd Place with 26 Points was Raven

Breakdown of Points

SEOmoz:
10 Keywords within 1 position (30 Points)
2 Keywords within 3 positions (4 Points)
2 Keywords with 4-6 Positions (2 Points)
0 Keywords within 10+ Positions (0 Points)

WebCEO:
7 Keywords within 1 position (21 Points)
4 Keywords within 3 positions (8 Points)
2 Keywords with 4-6 Positions (2 Points)
1 Keywords within 10+ Positions (-1 Point)

Raven:
6 Keywords within 1 position (18 Points)
2 Keywords within 3 positions (4 Points)
5 Keywords with 4-6 Positions (5 Points)
1 Keywords within 10+ Positions (-1 Points)

Summary

SEOmoz Pro

If you’re looking for a complete SEO tools set, SEOmoz offers good value with the highest points for accuracy, an average cost per accuracy point of $2.75. However, it must be noted that you are limited to tracking only 250 Keywords.

WebCEO

If you’re just looking for a good keyword tracking tool that doesn’t cost the earth, then WebCEO at $49/£30 pm is the cheapest with an average cost per accuracy point of ($1.63). Although, the wider tool set doesn’t match that of its competitors.

Raven Pro SEO Tools

Surprisingly given its monthly cost, Raven had the lowest points for accuracy with 26 points. It is the weakest of the three tools we tested with an average cost per accuracy point of $3.80 making it the most expensive for accuracy. Although Raven also have a very strong set of link building tools which Shark SEO has reviewed. Finally It should be noted though that although more expensive per point, Raven allows the tracking of 1,000 keywords compared to SEOmoz’s 250.
