8 years in...

So in October we will have made it to 8 years old, quite an achievement under the current financial situation the world sees itself in. However it is evidence that savvy businesses do not pull marketing in times of crisis, rather they embrace it and see if for it's real value. Now more than ever marketing has to prove itself in value and return.

When we started Motionlab back in 2004 we had a simple remit. Do it better than the rest and deliver results. To this day we have never employed a salesperson, have never made a single cold call, have never had a sales strategy, we have survived on delivering excellent return for our clients and in return they always come back for more. This simple strategy has seen us grow from me and Stuart sat in a tiny office in the depths of Preston to a team of 23 (and counting) in shiny new offices. It's been a good journey.

So where do we see the next 8 years?

Well we are working harder and harder on our process of 'Smart Decisions' using our extensive search and analytics teams to deliver intelligent data and analysis on marketplaces and businesses to provide us with information that helps shape our creative and technical deliverables. We don't see this slowing down, in fact our 'Smart Decisions' process will be key to delivering high returning solutions for our clients in the next 8 years. We expect that many more channels and social opportunities will arise; and our job of delivering across multi channels, analysing the results and refining the processes will still be as important as ever. We are never ones to sit still...

We expect to continue our organic growth in all areas of our business, our heads of department and their teams work tirelessly to deliver on our clients expectations, always going above and beyond. A little known fact but so far in 2012 we have only had 3 reported sick days for 23 staff... now that's dedication.

Finally we have started a new division called the LAB, we have begun developing our own apps and online software solutions soon to be rolled out. It's a very exciting time for us and we expect this part of the business to be a significant area we will continue to invest time and money into.

So in a nutshell that's it, thanks to all of our dedicated and faithful clients and mostly thanks to the team at Motionlab for their commitment to making us one of the most successful agencies in the North of England. Long may it continue.
